This course is designed to focus on the process of identifying, evaluating, and controlling risks in various settings. The course covers topics such as risk identification, risk assessment, risk control, risk communication, and risk management planning. The objective of the course is to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform risk assessments, develop risk management plans, and implement effective risk control measures. The course may also address the importance of continuous improvement in risk management practices and the role of risk management in promoting safety, health, and sustainability. Instructional contact-time must be a minimum of 8 hours.

Risk Assessment Fundamentals: Overview of the risk assessment process, including identification, evaluation, and control of hazards, the different types of risk assessments, including qualitative and quantitative risk assessments, how to identify and evaluate the likelihood and consequences of potential hazards
  3. Risk Management Fundamentals: Overview of the risk management process, including risk identification, analysis, evaluation, treatment, and monitoring, the different types of risk management strategies, including risk avoidance, risk reduction, risk transfer, and risk acceptance, how to develop and implement effective risk management plans
  4. Hazard Identification and Evaluation: Techniques for identifying and evaluating hazards in the workplace, including root cause analysis and failure mode and effects analysis, how to use checklists, inspections, and audits to identify hazards, the role of hazard identification and evaluation in risk assessment and risk management
  5. Control Measures and Risk Mitigation: Overview of different types of control measures, including administrative controls, engineering controls, and personal protective equipment (PPE), how to select and implement appropriate control measures to reduce the likelihood and consequences of hazards, The role of control measures in risk mitigation
  6. Risk Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Techniques for communicating and engaging with stakeholders about risk assessment and risk management, how to effectively communicate and consult with workers, management, and other stakeholders about risk, the importance of stakeholder engagement in risk assessment and risk management
  7. Legal and Compliance Requirements: Overview of legal and regulatory requirements related to risk assessment and risk management, how to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, the role of legal and compliance requirements in risk assessment and risk management
  8. Auditing and Review: Techniques for conducting audits and reviews of risk assessment and risk management processes, how to evaluate the effectiveness of risk assessment and risk management processes and identify areas for improvement, the importance of regular auditing and review in risk assessment and risk management

Training will be conducted via Microsoft Team Meeting, online. Meeting invites will be shared on the day before the first day of training.
