This course is designed to focus on promoting safety and health in environments where falls from height can occur. The course covers topics such as fall hazard identification and assessment, selection and use of fall protection equipment, safe work practices, and emergency response planning. The objective of the course is to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to work safely in fall hazard environments, prevent falls and injuries, and comply with relevant regulations and standards. The course may also address the importance of proper equipment inspection, training, and continuous improvement in maintaining a safe work environment Instructional contact-time must be a minimum of 8 hours.

  1. Introduction: Overview of the hazards and risks associated with working at heights and the importance of fall protection, the key concepts and principles of fall protection and safe operations.
  2. Fall Protection Standards and Regulations: Overview of OSHA regulations and industry standards for fall protection, how to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
  3. Fall Protection Systems and Equipment: Overview of different types of fall protection systems and equipment, including personal fall arrest systems, safety nets, and guardrails, how to properly select, use, and maintain fall protection systems and equipment.
  4. Fall Hazard Assessment and Control: Techniques for identifying and assessing fall hazards in the workplace, how to conduct a fall hazard assessment and evaluate the level of risk associated with working at heights, strategies for controlling and mitigating fall hazards.
  5. Fall Rescue and Emergency Response: Proper procedures for fall rescue and emergency response, how to properly evacuate and rescue workers in case of a fall, the importance of regular training and drills.
  6. Scaffold Safety and Use: Overview of OSHA regulations and industry standards for scaffold safety, proper procedures for erecting, dismantling, and inspecting scaffolds, how to safely use scaffolds for various tasks and hazards.
  7. Ladders and Stairways Safety: Overview of OSHA regulations and industry standards for ladder and stairway safety, proper procedures for inspecting, maintaining, and using ladders and stairways, how to safely use ladders and stairways for various tasks and hazards.
  8. Suspended Scaffold Safety: Overview of OSHA regulations and industry standards for suspended scaffold safety, proper procedures for inspecting, maintaining, and using suspended scaffolds, how to safely use suspended scaffolds for various tasks and hazards.
  9. Work Platform Safety: Overview of OSHA regulations and industry standards for work platform safety, proper procedures for inspecting, maintaining, and using work platforms, how to safely use work platforms for various tasks and hazards.
  10. Fall Protection Planning and Program Development: Techniques for creating and implementing a fall protection plan and program, how to identify fall hazards and implement controls, the importance of regular monitoring and review of fall protection program.

Training will be conducted via Microsoft Team Meeting, online. Meeting invites will be shared on the day before the first day of training.
