This course is designed to understand workers safe while they are performing maintenance and repair work on dangerous machines, you need to follow the right procedures to disable machinery. Our lockout/tagout safety course will ensure you know how to properly shut down machines so that they don’t release potentially hazardous energy. Additionally, the course reviews the OSHA standard for the Control of Hazardous Energy found in CFR Part 1910.147 to keep you in compliance. You’ll learn about definitions relating to OSHA standards, lockout/tagout devices, different types of energy, energy control plans, safe work practices, and common hazards. Instructional contact-time must be a minimum of 8 hours.

  2. Lockout and Tag Out Standards and Regulations: Overview of OSHA regulations and industry standards for lockout and tag out, how to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
  3. Risk Assessment and Management: Techniques for identifying and assessing hazards when servicing and maintaining equipment, how to conduct a risk assessment and evaluate the level of risk associated with servicing and maintaining equipment, strategies for reducing and controlling risks when servicing and maintaining equipment.
  4. Lockout and Tag Out Procedures: Proper procedures for lockout and tag out, including when it is necessary and what steps should be taken, how to properly use lockout and tag out devices and when it is necessary, the limitations of lockout and tag out.
  5. Machine and Equipment-Specific Procedures: How to identify and understand the specific lockout and tag out procedures for different types of machinery and equipment,the importance of training employees on the specific lockout and tag out procedures for the equipment they operate.
  6. Authorized and Affected Employees: The roles and responsibilities of authorized and affected employees in the lockout and tag out process,how to properly communicate and coordinate with authorized and affected employees to ensure the safety.
  7. Inspection and Maintenance: Proper procedures for inspecting and maintaining lockout and tag out equipment, how to conduct regular inspections and maintenance on lockout and tag out equipment, the role of inspection and maintenance in preventing incidents.
  8. Emergency Response and Rescue: Emergency response procedures for lockout and tag out incidents, how to evacuate safely in case of an emergency, first aid procedures for injuries that may occur while servicing and maintaining equipment.
  9. Conclusion: Recap of the hazards and risks associated with servicing and maintaining equipment, the importance of proper lockout and tag out procedures to protect workers when servicing and maintaining equipment, the benefits of implementing a comprehensive lockout and tag out program when servicing and maintaining equipment.

Training will be conducted via Microsoft Team Meeting, online. Meeting invites will be shared on the day before the first day of training.
