This course is designed to influence employee actions toward safer outcomes, ideally by preventing an accident or injury before it occurs. Implementing a behavior-based safety program is the most comprehensive way for companies to promote safety, eliminate hazards and prevent injuries. Training prepares you to identify unsafe behaviors and actions, and then make good decisions to work safely. The challenge is to deliver training that is memorable and relevant. The training that “sticks” will keep you safe

This course will offer participants a detailed understanding in various segments, which are not limited to:

  1. Introduction: Overview of the concept of Behavior Based Safety (BBS) and its role in promoting safe behaviors and reducing accidents in the workplace, the importance of understanding and managing human behavior in the workplace to improve safety performance.
  2. The Fundamentals of BBS: Overview of the key principles and concepts of BBS, including proactive safety management, positive reinforcement, and continuous improvement, the role of leadership and employee involvement in BBS.
  3. Observation and Feedback: Techniques for conducting effective observations and providing constructive feedback to employees to promote safe behaviors, how to use observation and feedback to identify and address unsafe behaviors, the importance of effective communication and active listening in BBS.
  4. Root Cause Analysis and Incident Investigation: Techniques for conducting root cause analysis and incident investigations to identify underlying causes of accidents and near-misses, how to use root cause analysis and incident investigation to prevent future incidents.
  5. Positive Reinforcement and Rewards: Strategies for using positive reinforcement and rewards to promote safe behaviors and improve safety performance, the importance of involving employees in the development of incentives and rewards.
  6. Safety Audits and Inspections: Techniques for conducting safety audits and inspections to identify and address hazards and unsafe conditions in the workplace, how to use safety audits and inspections to improve safety performance and prevent accidents.
  7. Continuous Improvement and Evaluation: Techniques for measuring and evaluating safety performance and progress over time, how to use continuous improvement and evaluation to identify areas for improvement and track progress, the importance of setting and achieving safety goals.
  8. BBS Implementation and Rollout: Strategies for planning and implementing a BBS program in the workplace, how to involve employees and management in the BBS implementation processthe importance of ongoing training and support to sustain a BBS program.

Training will be conducted via Microsoft Team Meeting, online. Meeting invites will be shared on the day before the first day of training.
